Spring is most definitely in the air here in Heslington!
Yesterday (28 Feb.) we had our first Queen bumblebees of the year in the garden. (Buff-tailed, in case you were wondering!)
Last week there were honeybees about. And the first moths of the year (including a Pale Brindled Beauty).
As I type the garden is teeming with 7-spot ladybirds.
And this morning … Well, take a listen to this bird song:

Hi Caroline – Funnily enough, I had just sent my sightings off to the UK Ladybird Survey when your comment arrived! There are *so* many 7-spots here in York this year. Have you got a similar number where you are?
