Young and … ‘not so young’ filled Jacob’s Well in York on Saturday night for the premiere of our new show for the York Literature Festival, called Stomping through the Seasons.
Performing the show were storyteller Catherine Heinemeyer, shoemaker Terry Brown, and me:
Providing the highlight of the evening (i.e. the interval buns) was my Mum!
Many of the audience remembered my Mum’s delicious buns from last year’s York Literature Festival, when we performed Raucous Rhymes and Wonder Tales in the same venue.
Thank you to everyone who came along this year and joined in so lustily as we stomped our way through from January to December, from Siberia to India, and learned how to make a pair of shoes!
Thank you too to Catherine’s Dad, who manned the door so capably, and to Mike for his camera work.
The children left with a beautiful disc of leather each from Terry’s workshop, to inspire them to come up with a shoe design, a shoe story or a shoe poem. I wonder where the discs have led them …
Meanwhile, you can find out more about Terry’s shoes here.
