On the way home from performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer, I stopped off at the University of Stirling to perform a Buzzing! show all about bees for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT), who are based there.
As you may know, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust are fans of my Buzzing! CD:
‘Wonderful! We put it on in the office when someone needs cheering up’
And I am a great fan of their work – as anyone who has been to one of my Buzzing! performances will know.
My Buzzing! show at Stirling was part of a fascinating Bumblebee Information Day put on by the BBCT, in which I learnt more than I knew there was to know about the fascinating world of bumblebees, from the BBCT’s Dr Ben Darvill.
The day was being filmed by a BBC camera crew, as the Bumblebee Conservation Trust was up for a National Lottery Award for ‘Best Environment Project’.
Last night the winners of the award were revealed at a star-studded event in London, broadcast on BBC1. I was thrilled to discover that the Bumblebee Conservation Trust won their category!
Congratulations to Professor Dave Goulson, Ben Darvill and all the other people up in Stirling who set up and run the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. I can’t recommend them too highly!
And what do they think of my Buzzing! show? Well, Professor Dave Goulson, Director of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, says:
‘Brilliant – a unique, entertaining, informative and amusing take on the world of bumblebees and other garden insects.’
And Jennifer Batty, one of the participants on the course, said my Buzzing! show was:
‘A great way to get big and little people enthused about buzzers …’
So, if you’re looking to enthuse people about bees … a Buzzing! show might be the answer.email me to find out more!
