This week has been Solitary Bee Week. As requested by the good people at Solitary Bee Week, on Wednesday I ‘wore my stripes’. (As did my garden furniture!)
Thursday was designated Solitary Bee Week Poetry Day. Here’s a solitary bee poem I prepared earlier. (Earlier in the lockdown, that is …) Why not celebrate Solitary Bee Week by performing this poem too?
I wonder how many of the over 240 species of solitary bee in the UK you’ll spot this week. Or this month. Or this summer.
Find out more about solitary bees, and what you can do to help them, here.
