It’s pour yourself a cuppa and put your feet up time again.
So here, for your delectation (aka to distract your attention from our current woes), is my Rhymes of the Times 2010 show. It was recorded live in front of a York Residents Festival audience in the very beautiful Unitarian Chapel in St Saviourgate, York.
2010 was the year of the unpronounceable Icelandic volcano, the football World Cup in South Africa, the General Election here, and much, much more.
My show includes poems I performed on BBC Radio 2, Radio 4 and the World Service.
There’s no film footage of the show, just audio, so I’ve added visuals to the video below, to orientate you through the year. There’s an audio-only version, if you prefer that, under the video.
So without further ado, let’s whisk ourselves back to a time when we could all cram together in a very special, historic building in the centre of York and laugh …
You can listen to an audio-only version here, or at SoundCloud.
Oh, and if you’d like to read these poems for yourself, then Rhymes of the Times 2011 is available as a Kindle book.
