Lockdown Nature 24: Ladybird, ladybird …

Have you spotted any ladybirds yet this year where you are? If so, how many different species have you seen?

There are 47 members of the ladybird family in the UK, and 27 of them look recognisably ‘ladybird-y’. Now that spring is on its way, the time is right to start looking for them!

Here is my poem about a 14-spot ladybird. I’d love to see your performance it! Share it on Twitter @theBigBuzzNews, on facebook or email it to me (theBigBuzz@gmail.com).

You can download a poster of the 16 most common British ladybirds, and find out more about them, here.

Happy ladybird hunting!
