‘Before Anneliese came I didn’t like poems but now I love writing them. It was awesome.’ Thomas, Year 6, Driffield Junior School
STOP PRESS: As my school visits have been put on hold due to COVID-19, I’ve been creating online resources for you instead, in the form of bite-size ‘nature in lockdown’ videos. You can watch the first set of 20 videos, recorded in the March – July 2020 lockdown, here. Look out for more recent videos by scrolling through the posts here.
I visit schools nationwide (and beyond) putting on acclaimed, cross-curricular Buzzing! and Flying High! poetry shows, poetry workshops and book signings for children aged 3 to 13. I mix science with poetry in a way that inspires learning through laughter, rhythm and rhyme. Topics covered include habitats, life cycles, pollination, minibeasts and animals.
‘Every primary school in the UK should book this enjoyable show.’ Ledbury Reporter
‘Perfectly tailored to the curriculum and the children’s needs.’ Helen Mudd, Literacy Coordinator, Driffield Junior School
‘Pitch perfect for our minibeasts project.’ Jamie Lang, Year 5 teacher, Birchfields Primary School
You can read more about what teachers and pupils think of my visits here.
I can tailor my visit to fit in with, amongst other topics:
- life cycles
- the rainforest
- heroes and heroines
- the human body
- food/healthy eating
- World Book Day
- National Poetry Day
- Cornerstones Beast Creator
- Ancient Egyptians/Buried Treasure.
‘I personly think you are the best poet in the world.’ Year 5 pupil, South Otterington Primary School
My poetry workshops cover both poetry writing and poetry performing.
‘You were exiting and funny. I wish you could come back here to teach us more.’ Year 4 pupil, Le Cateau Primary School
‘An excellent afternoon where not only the pupils learnt new skills but so did I as a teacher. The pupils were all engaged and took some marvellous photographs.’ Gavin Jefferson, Year 5 teacher, Ackton Pastures Primary School
